In short: at LorenZone, instant buyback is paused for now. To sell your cards, sealed products or bulk, use consignment on rachat-cartes.lorenzone.fr: you choose how much you want to receive, LorenZone sells for you in live Whatnot auctions or on its online store, and you get 70% of the sale price by bank transfer every month. Consigning is free.

Good to know: the consignment website is in French. LorenZone is a French TCG shop, so check the shipping and payment conditions on the site before sending your cards from abroad.

Selling a whole collection fast or getting the best price for a few rare cards: instant buyback and consignment do not meet the same need. Here is how to compare them, and how to sell your cards with LorenZone today.

Instant buyback vs consignment

With an instant buyback, a dealer makes you an offer and buys your cards if you accept it. You know the amount straight away, but it is always lower than the resale price: the dealer takes on the stock, the listings and the risk of not reselling, and earns the difference.

With consignment, you remain the owner of your cards until they sell. The dealer sells them on your behalf and keeps a commission. You usually receive more, but after the sale rather than instantly.

The key differences

Instant buyback LorenZone consignment
Who sets the price? The buyer makes an offer You, item by item (your "net")
What you receive The accepted offer, often well below market value 70% of the sale price, at least your net
When are you paid? When the lot is bought Every month, by bank transfer, for the items sold
Fees Built into the price gap 30% all-inclusive, free to consign

Why LorenZone focuses on consignment

LorenZone is not taking new instant buyback requests for the moment (buyback files already in progress continue as normal). Consignment is better for the seller: instead of accepting a buyback offer, you decide how much you want to receive, and your cards are sold to the LorenZone community, live on Whatnot or on the online store.

If an item does not sell, your contract can include a buyback value: at the end of the consignment period, you can then choose to let LorenZone keep it at that price instead of having it shipped back.

Sealed products are accepted both at auction and in the store. Add at least two photos (front and back of the packaging) and report any visible defect.

LorenZone consignment in 5 steps

  1. List your cards and your price on rachat-cartes.lorenzone.fr: for each item, enter the amount you want to receive. The form shows the resulting sale price and, when available, the market price.
  2. Approval: the team accepts your amounts or makes a counter-offer, which you accept or decline item by item.
  3. Shipping and inspection: you send your cards, each item is inspected, then you sign a contract online that sets your guaranteed net. Nothing goes on sale without your signature.
  4. On sale: in live Whatnot auctions or on the LorenZone online store, depending on the mode you chose.
  5. Monthly payout: you receive a sales statement (price, commission and net, item by item) followed by your bank transfer.

How much you receive: worked examples

LorenZone keeps 30% of the sale price, all fees included; you receive 70%. The listed price is worked out from your net: net ÷ 0.70.

You want to receive€70
Starting / listed price€100
Sold for €100€70 for you
Sold for €150€105 for you

Another example: a card you want to sell for €210 net is listed at €300 in the store and is never sold for less. At auction, if several people bid, you receive 70% of a higher price. These amounts are illustrations: the net for each item is set in your contract.

Enchanted, Iconic and graded cards

Rare cards, graded or not, are a good fit for the online store: each card is listed individually, from €15 net.

Live auctions or online store

In live Whatnot auctions, your items are grouped into lots (yours only). A lot's starting price is the sum of your minimums divided by 0.70: if it sells at its starting price, you receive at least your minimums. Cards, sealed products and bulk are accepted, with no minimum per card.

In the online store, each item is listed at no less than your net divided by 0.70 and is never sold below that. Single cards from €15 net and sealed products are accepted, but not bulk.

What is accepted

  • Eleven games: Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball, Digimon, Naruto Mythos, Riftbound, Palworld and Cyberpunk.
  • Languages: French, English and Japanese depending on the game, plus Simplified and Traditional Chinese for Pokémon, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh!. One request covers a single game and a single language.
  • Sealed products: booster boxes, displays, Elite Trainer Boxes, tins, collection boxes, starter decks… in their original factory seal.
  • Bulk: at auction only, in good condition (Near Mint), sorted by set, counted or weighed.

Shipping, consignment period and payment

Shipping: outbound postage is paid by you. Below €150 of consigned value, tracked shipping is enough; from €150, signature on delivery is required; from €500, the parcel must also be insured for its declared value. Protect valuable cards with sleeves and top-loaders, in a rigid envelope or a padded box.

Period: consignment lasts 90 days from the signature of the contract. At the end, you decide what happens to unsold items: returned at your expense, or bought by LorenZone if your contract includes a buyback value.

Payment: every month, a sales statement followed by a bank transfer. You pay nothing upfront: the commission is deducted from the sale price.

Frequently asked questions

Does LorenZone still buy cards for cash?

Instant buyback is paused for now: LorenZone only offers consignment. Buyback files already in progress continue as normal.

How much does consignment cost?

Consigning is free, with no sign-up fee. LorenZone keeps 30% of the sale price, all fees included; only the postage for your parcel (and, if applicable, for returning unsold items) is paid by you.

What if my cards are in worse condition than described?

Each item is inspected on arrival. If the condition does not match your description, the amount can be revised with a reason, or the item refused. You have the final say: you sign the contract, or your items are returned to you.

Can I consign graded cards?

Yes: rare cards, graded or not, are accepted at auction and in the online store (from €15 net in the store).
